Produced by Marty Brown (Clare Bowditch, Harry James Angus, Lisa Mitchell), the first track Worm In A Bottle is a guitar-driven, cowboy love story of smoke, ash, dust and tequila. Following Me tells a haunting tale of the soul-selling to the devil, tinkering repeated themes on the ivory, the sound of a Gramaphone and piano accordion alludes to an ominous carnival ending. Featuring the exquisite warm tones of the Leslie Hammond organ, Crying’s playful rhythms and jazz harmony portray the heartache of loneliness. I’m Over You says it all in the title, metaphor and simile repeat in the chorus supported by an army of female backing vocalists to bring home this intimate message of love and loss. The final track, Prohibition Boogie, is a high-energy piano-driven boogie toasting to the many drops of liquid gold.
The devilish charms of ‘Love Belongs to the Blues’ and the frenzied romp of ‘Crazy’ will have you breaking into a hot sweat, venom coursing through your veins. Recorded spectacularly by Marty Brown (Clare Bowditch, Art of Fighting) this is a hint of what is to come with their debut EP.
‘LOVE BELONGS TO THE BLUES’ was launched on the 25th October, 2013 at The Luwow, Fitzroy.
